The trick was making sure the directions included plenty of higher-level concepts and vocabulary, and that the activity itself wasn’t seen as “babyish”. WebbIf the kid doesn’t want to read out loud then they shouldn’t have to in front of the class. If the kid wants to learn some strategies then I’d take it on. If it’s not affecting his education or social life in the student’s opinion I’d advocate for dismissal.
